Inspired by Children

become a certified Philip Method© sleep consultant

This is not an education about how to make children sleep.

It is an education about understanding why they don’t.

Understanding first. Intervention second.
Next generation begins: 1 December 2026
15 places available
No sleep training.
No behavioural fixing.

sleep is not something we need to fix.

Inspired by Children is opening applications for the third generation of Sleep Consultants licensed to practice the Philip Method©.

A six-month professional education for people who want to work with families through a fundamentally different approach to children’s sleep.

For years, the conversation around children’s sleep has started with the same question:

How do we make the child sleep?

We start somewhere else.

Why is this child not sleeping well?

That difference may look small.

In practice, it changes everything.

The Philip Method© was created around the belief that sleep is not an isolated behaviour that needs to be corrected.

It is connected to biology, development, circadian rhythm, emotional regulation, environment, associations, parental behaviour and the individual child in front of us.

Before we change anything, we seek to understand it.

And this is exactly how we educate our consultants.

we are not looking for people who want another certificate.

We are looking for people who want to carry responsibility.

Working with exhausted parents and young children is sensitive work.

Knowledge matters enormously.

But knowledge alone is not enough.

At our Center for Child Sleep in Serbia, we believe that someone working with children must have something that cannot be taught through a presentation:

genuine respect for children.

The patience to observe before concluding.

The curiosity to ask why before saying how.

And the willingness to help parents understand their child instead of giving them another technique for fixing a symptom.

This is why admission to the education does not begin with payment.

It begins with a conversation.

first, we want to meet you.

Before you can enrol, you will be invited to a complimentary 30-minute qualification call with our team.

This is not a sales call.

It is part of our selection process.

We want to understand why you want to do this work, how you think about children and families, what you expect from the profession and whether the philosophy behind the Philip Method© corresponds with the kind of professional you want to become.

You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about:

the curriculum, training structure, examinations, practical work, certification, licensing and what happens after successfully completing the program.

If we believe there is a mutual fit, you will receive the complete information and the next steps for enrolment.

There are only 15 places in each generation.

six months. two phases. one professional standard.

The education lasts six months and is delivered online.

How to look at a case.

How to identify what matters.

How to distinguish a symptom from its possible cause.

And how to understand the child within their developmental and family context.

MONTHS 1–3

THEORY

The first three months build the knowledge required to understand children’s sleep before attempting to intervene.

You will learn to think beyond schedules, wake windows and isolated sleep behaviours.

The purpose of this phase is not to teach you a collection of ready-made answers.

It is to teach you how to reason.

knowing the theory does not make someone a consultant.

Being able to apply it responsibly does.

MONTHS 4–6

PRACTICE

During the second half of the education, the emphasis moves from learning information to applying knowledge through practical work, case analysis and professional reasoning.

You will learn how to translate what you know into recommendations parents can actually understand and implement.

Because parents rarely need more information.

They need someone who knows which information matters for their child.

we will teach you to help parents act — not react.

A tired parent reacts to another difficult night.

A frightened parent reacts to crying.

A confused parent reacts to conflicting advice.

And when professionals work only with what is visible, they can start reacting too.

Another wake-up.

Another schedule adjustment.

Another association to remove.

Another behaviour to correct.

The Philip Method© teaches a different sequence:

  1. Observe.
  2. Understand.
  3. Reason.
  4. Then act.

Your role as a consultant will not be to make decisions instead of parents.

Your role will be to give them enough understanding that their decisions stop coming from fear, exhaustion and confusion.

That is the difference between giving advice and educating a parent.

this is not sleep-training certification.

We need to be very clear about this.

The Philip Method© does not educate consultants to train children to sleep.

We do not begin with:

How do we stop the waking?

How do we remove this behaviour?

How do we make the child fall asleep independently?

We begin with:

Why is this happening?

What does this child need biologically?

What is developmentally appropriate?

What is maintaining the current situation?

What can the parent change?

And what should perhaps not be changed at all?

Because sleep is not something that needs to be conquered. Sleep needs to be understood.

about the examination

Six months of attendance does not automatically make you a Philip Method© consultant.

You must demonstrate that you can use what you have learned.

The certification process therefore includes examinations designed to assess your knowledge, case reasoning and ability to apply the methodology responsibly.

And one thing deserves to be said from the beginning:

AI WILL NOT PASS THIS EXAM FOR YOU.

You can use technology to organise information.

You can use it to study.

But you cannot outsource professional judgement.

You will be expected to analyse cases, connect information, defend your reasoning and demonstrate that you understand why you are making a recommendation.

There is a reason for this standard.

Passing this education does not simply give you another certificate to place on a wall.

It qualifies you to become licensed to practise the Philip Method©.

And our name will stand behind that licence.

So will the families who trust it.

after successful completion

Candidates who complete the six-month education and successfully pass the required examinations receive their certificate and become eligible for licensing to practise the Philip Method© in accordance with the licensing requirements of the program.

But the certificate is not the most important thing you should leave with.

You should leave able to meet a tired parent, look beyond the obvious problem and ask:

What is this child trying to tell us?

That question sits at the centre of everything we do.

a new generation of sleep professionals

We believe the future of children’s sleep support will not be built around increasingly sophisticated ways of training children to sleep.

It will be built around professionals who understand sleep well enough that training is no longer the automatic answer.

The Philip Method© is our contribution to that future.

And through Inspired by Children, we are preparing a new generation of consultants to carry this approach internationally.

a new generation of sleep professionals

Professionals who understand development.

Professionals who respect attachment.

Professionals who can think critically.

Professionals who can distinguish evidence from trends.

Professionals who are willing to say I need to understand more before telling a family what to do.

Applications are now open.

the third generation begins 1 December 2026.

15 candidates will be accepted into the group.

Your first step is not enrolment.

Your first step is a conversation.

Book a complimentary 30-minute qualification call with our team.

We will explain the education, answer your questions and determine together whether this profession — and the Philip Method© — is the right fit for you.

If it is, you will receive the complete program information and instructions for the next stage of the application.

You don’t need to already have all the answers.

But you do need to be willing to ask the right questions.

Educating professionals who choose understanding before intervention.
