0–6 months
Understand newborn and infant sleep before trying to change it — developing circadian rhythms, age-appropriate expectations, routines and healthy foundations for the first months of life.

There is another way. It begins with teaching you to understand what their sleep is telling you.
There is another way.
Understand what their sleep is telling you.
Science, understanding and connection — before intervention.
Maybe sleep isn’t the problem
Your child takes an hour to fall asleep.
Wakes five, seven, ten times every night.
Can only fall asleep while breastfeeding.
Needs to be rocked, carried or moved.
Sleeps perfectly one week — and suddenly nothing works anymore.

So you start looking for a solution. A better routine. Another schedule.
But what if there is a reason underneath it?
This is where The Philip Method© begins. Not with “How do we stop the waking?” but with “Why is this child waking?”
Not “How do I stop breastfeeding to sleep?” but “Why has breastfeeding become necessary for every transition into sleep?”
Because two children can have exactly the same sleep problem for completely different reasons.

How we teach
We teach you how to understand your child. Wake windows can be useful. Routines can be incredibly important.
Until they’re not.
Until development requires them to change.
A schedule that worked beautifully last month can suddenly stop working.
So parents become stricter. Shorten a wake window. Remove a nap. Change bedtime.
And soon the whole day becomes an attempt to fit a child inside a schedule.
The Philip Method© reverses that relationship.
The schedule should serve the child. The child should never have to serve the schedule. We teach you how circadian rhythm works, how sleep pressure develops and how biological needs change with age. And how to recognise when a routine should be followed — and when your own child is telling you it needs to change. Understand first. Then act.
A child is not a wake window. Not a nap schedule. Not a problem waiting to be fixed.

THIS IS NOT SLEEP TRAINING.

THREE MODULES. THREE QUESTIONS.
You learn how children’s sleep biology develops.
How to establish an age-appropriate circadian rhythm.
Sleep pressure, naps, bedtime, wake periods, routines.
You leave knowing how to build a rhythm — and when to change it.
Breastfeeding, rocking, movement, touch, presence.
These are sleep-onset associations — not bad habits.
You learn what drives them and how they can change gradually and responsively, without turning closeness into the enemy.
Once biology is working with you and you understand the associations, we can change how sleep happens.
Not by disappearing. Not by ignoring communication.
Independence isn’t created by withdrawing connection. It develops when a child is ready to need less of it.
The Philip Method© was founded in 2021. It didn’t begin with an ambition to create another sleep program.
It began with the same questions thousands of parents eventually ask.
Why is this happening?
What does my child actually need?
Is there a way to help without correcting their need for closeness?
Those questions became a system. More than 14,500 families have used it. Now we are bringing it to parents internationally in English.

The woman behind the method
Founder of The Philip Method© and Inspired by Children.
She created the method from a conviction that parents deserve something better than choosing between endless exhaustion and conventional sleep training.
Her work helps parents understand the mechanisms behind children’s sleep and behaviour, so change comes from knowledge rather than fear.
What began as an attempt to understand one child became a system used by thousands of families.
But the principle behind it has remained remarkably simple:
Before we try to change a child,
we should understand them.
Read Tatjana’s storyA four-month-old is not a two-year-old. Their brains, sleep architecture and developmental needs are different — and so are the reasons behind their sleep difficulties.
That is why the Philip Method© is available in age-specific programs, from newborn sleep foundations to sleep within the emotional life of the older child.
Not another parenting hack.
Not another perfect routine.
Not another list of sentences to memorise.
Built from physiology, biology, developmental science and attachment-informed practice.

Explore 0–6 monthsFor frequent waking, long sleep onset, strong sleep associations, breastfeeding or rocking to sleep, changing naps and bedtime difficulties through the developmental changes of infancy and toddlerhood.
Explore 6 months–3 yearsWhen sleep is no longer only biological — boundaries, imagination, fears and autonomy. Sleep within the cognitive and emotional development of the older child.

When you understand why, knowing what to do next becomes much easier.
